     You may know me as "lessofme1" on You tube, or maybe you have just heard of hCG and are curious what it's all about. Either way, Welcome! hCG Basics was inspired by my personal journey that started with the hCG Protocol, as described by Dr. Simeons in "Pounds & Inches". After losing over 50 pounds since May 15, 2009, and having no problems keeping if off, I have become passionate about spreading the good news to others who are struggling with weight loss; that they can and will succeed with the help of the hCG Protocol.

       It is disheartening to see clinics all over the country, charging hundreds of dollars when the actual hCG and supplies cost a fraction of that. I guess that they offer services for the additional cost, such as basic information, weight-ins, and a brief weekly appointment to answer questions. (all things you can get from this web site, and your own bathroom scale!) However, I would recommend to everyone that they have a complete check up from their doctor and discuss with them the decision to use hCG for weight loss. There are many people who are desperate to lose the weight and have tried everything, but can not afford that extra $500 - $1,200 at a clinic, to do it. I know, because I too was desperate to lose weight, but could not have afforded to go that route! I want to offer an alternative to those who would rather save those hundreds of dollars for something else but still want or need some direction and planning done for them.       There are many books and programs available using hCG for weight loss. They are all based on Dr. Simeons' "Pounds & Inches", but with variations of the protocol, rather than sticking with what works best and is most effective. I followed Dr. Simeons only; the original doctor who discovered, researched, and developed the weight loss program using hCG, through decades of running a hospital based clinic that treated obesity with hCG. His program is straight forward, and it works!

       I took a break from hCG while I was pregnant with our 4th son.  He was born in May and after 6 weeks, I couldn't take the weight gain any longer and started back up with hCG.  In 5 months time, with the help of hCG, I have already lost 80 pounds! ( I gained 80 after struggling with toxemia and bed rest, sigh...).  I still have more weight to lose to get to my goal and will continue to do it with hCG.  Remember, once you get started you just want to get to your goal as quickly as possible, but it's important to take the breaks for maintenance to avoid becoming immune to hCG and give your body the necessary time to become stable at your new weight.
